Land Rover Defender 130: Outbound Edition and V8 variants bring more versatility to the lineup
The biggest change on the Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound Edition is the lack of a third seating row. This seating row has been ditched for more boot space. Designed for adventurers, the Outbound 130 can pack a lot of luggage and equipment for long journeys. The Outbound Edition has a bootspace of 1,329 litres, which can be extended to 2,516 litres upon folding the middle row. Powertrain options include D300 diesel and P400 petrol engines.
The Land Rover Defender 130 V8 gets a 5.0-litre supercharged engine which is also found on Defender 90 and 110. This engine can produce a maximum power output of 500hp on the Defender 130. The SUV can go from 0-100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds. Along the exterior, the Land Rover Defender 130 V8 gets quad outboard-mounted exhausts, V8 badging, Matrix LED headlights with signature DRLs and darkened tail lights.
Inside, the Defender 130 V8 gets an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The luxury SUV also gets 14-way heated and cooled electric driver memory seats finished in Ebony Windsor leather. The Defender 130 V8 features four-zone climate control, heated third-row seats and climate seats in the middle row. It also gets a Meridian sound system, Head-Up Display, Interactive Driver Display, and Cabin Air Purification Plus.
Mark Cameron, Managing Director, Defender, said: “Defender 130 Outbound is an incredibly desirable addition to the Defender family, for our most adventurous clients who love to get out and explore and need greater load carrying space with a five-seat configuration. Its unique design enhancements and spacious interior provide a compelling blend of capability and practicality. The 4×4 family offers something for everyone, with the introduction of the V8 powertrain to Defender 130, while the new County Exterior Pack celebrates Defender’s roots with a modern take on a classic design.”
