Kia Seltos facelift revealed, bookings open July 14

Kia India has finally unveiled its India-spec facelift of the Kia Seltos. Kia Seltos facelift was launched globally last year. Its India-spec model gets a few additional tweaks. Kia Seltos was launched in India in August 2019. The automaker revealed that since then it has sold 5 lakh units of the SUV in the country.

2023 Kia Seltos facelift: What’s new?

The Indian model of the Kia Seltos facelift gets a larger reworked bumper, extra body cladding, and new body-coloured inserts in the fog lamp housing. The facelift also gets a new design for the LED headlamps and DRLs. The DRLs are integrated into the wide grille. The SUV remains unchanged along the sides, save for a new design for the dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the Seltos gets a downward-facing design for the tail lamps. The two tail lamps are connected by a light bar. The reverse light has been repositioned from the tail light array to the bumper.

Talking about the interior specs, the Kia Seltos facelift gets a 10.25-inch twin-screen infotainment system and digital driver display. The infotainment system comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The AC vents have been trimmed down and the HVAC and media control panel gets a slight design tweak as well. New interior colour options have also been made available for the X Line and GT Line variants. The Kia Seltos facelift also gets an ADAS package that consists of 17 safety features.

Things remain the same under the hood as the Kia Seltos facelift continues to be offered with 1.5L petrol and 1.5L turbo-diesel engine options. The 1.4L turbo-petrol has been discontinued due to its failure to meet the new BS6 Phase II norms. The 1.5-litre petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine puts out 116hp and 250Nm. The petrol can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The diesel engine gets the option of a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Conclusion

Kia has also introduced a new Pewter Olive paint scheme for the new Seltos facelift. The SUV is available in 9 mono-tone and 2 dual-tone colour options. Bookings for the Seltos will commence on July 14. Upon launch, the SUV will rival Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder.
