After taking the wraps off the new Taigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport last month, Volkswagen launched the two trims in India today. Prices for the Volkswagen Taigun GT Line start at Rs 14,08,400, while the GT Plus Sport trim fetches Rs 18,53,900. The automaker is also offering a complimentary 4-year Service Value Package (SVP) on the GT Plus Sport variants.

Volkswagen Taigun: What’s new on the GT Line and GT Plus Sport variants?
Here is the price list for the new GT Line and GT Plus Sport variants of the Taigun.

The Volkswagen Taigun GT Line receives R17 ‘Cassino’ black alloy wheels and exclusive ‘GT Line’ badging. The LED headlamp, front grille, roof rails, B-pillar, C-pillar, OVRMs, DLO, door handle garnish, and the underbody spoilers on the SUV have been blacked out. The GT Plus Sport gets these changes along with red highlights on the brake callipers, GT logo on the front, and the badging on the fender and the boot lid. Instead of a matte black finish on the B-pillar and C-pillar, the GT Plus trim gets a glossy black garnish.
Inside, the GT Line trim of the Volkswagen Taigun gets a dark theme for the lower interior and a black coloured headliner. There’s red ambient lighting on board, along with crystal grey stitching on the seat covers, front armrest, steering wheel, and door armrest. The grab handles, sunvisor, holders, and roof lamp housing are finished in black. The GT Plus Sport trim has red stitching on the front centre armrest, steering wheel, door armrest, and seat covers. The ‘GT’ badging is embroidered into the front seats.
Powering the Volkswagen Taigun GT Line is the three-cylinder, 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine which produces a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. Meanwhile, the GT Plus Sport trim is powered by the four-cylinder, 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol engine which can produce a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Conclusion
Volkswagen India will commence the deliveries of the two new Taigun trims this month. The instrumentation on the SUV remains unchanged. It rivals the likes of the Kia Seltos X-Line, Hyundai Creta N Line, Monte Carlo edition of the Skoda Kushaq, and other midsize SUVs.
