Volkswagen has added two new trims to the Taigun lineup – GT Plus Sport and GT Line. The GT Plus Sport variant of the Volkswagen Taigun is available with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine while the GT Line variant is powered by the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Both variants get significant cosmetic upgrades inside and out. The automaker also showcased the all-electric ID.4 at the Annual Brand Conference.

Volkswagen Taigun: Here’s what the two new trims have to offer
The two new trims added to the Volkswagen Taigun lineup receive an all-black theme. The GT Plus Sport trim flaunts all-black roof rails, OVRMs, window bar/DLO, front lamellas, design strip, and more. The door handles get a dark chrome garnish while the roof is coloured in Carbon Steel. In contrast with the all-black cosmetics, the brake callipers on the GT Plus Sport are finished in red. The red GT logo can be found on the grille, fender, and boot lid.
The GT Line trim of the Volkswagen Taigun also gets a similar all-black theme for the exterior, but its GT Line badging is only present on the fender and rear. Its B-pillar and C-pillar are finished in matte black. A black coloured ‘TSI’ badge can be found on the boot lid.
The all-black theme extends inside the two trims as well. The Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport and GT Line get glossy black dashboard decor, black leatherette upholstery with red highlights, black grab handles, black roof lamp housing, red ambient lighting, and more.
Powering the GT Plus Sport variant of the Volkswagen Taigun is the four-cylinder, 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol engine which can produce a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Meanwhile, the GT Line variant is powered by the three-cylinder, 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine which produces a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox.

Conclusion
Bookings for the two new trims of the Volkswagen Taigun are now open. Prices will be revealed upon launch. The automaker also showcased a sporty GT version of the Virtus sedan. Upon launch, the Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport and GT Line will rival the Kia Seltos X-Line, Hyundai Creta N Line, Monte Carlo edition of the Skoda Kushaq, and other midsize SUVs.
