Volkswagen Taigun Gets Feature Upgrades, Prices Hiked By Up To 4%

With the aim of offering the best package to its customers, the VW brand introduces enhancements in the features of its Volkswagen Taigun SUV model. The new mid-sized SUV now offers Idle Start/Stop (ISS) engine technology and Tyre Pressure Deflation Warning as standard across all its variants. 

These feature upgrades are claimed to have improved its fuel efficiency by 6% on its Dynamic Line models. However, along with the enhancements, Volkswagen has also introduced a price revision of 2.5% to 4%, depending upon the variant, in its Taigun and Tiguan models. The price hike is effective in the country from 2nd May onwards.

According to the company, product enhancements are a part of the lifecycle of a product. These are made while keeping the comfort and benefits of the customers in focus. The Volkswagen Taigun now offers the Engine Idle Start/Stop technology and Tyre Pressure Deflation Warning system as standard across all variants of both its Performance Line and the Dynamic Line. 

Owing to these upgrades, the Volkswagen Taigun Dynamic Line (1.0L) comes with a 6% increase in fuel efficiency. The 1.0L manual variant now offers fuel efficiency of 19.20kmpl while the 1.0L automatic torque converter variant offers 17.23kmpl (ARAI).

Furthermore, the Volkswagen Taigun Performance Line now offers Wild Cherry Red decor inserts only on the same exterior colour model whereas other exterior colours will get Armour Grey glossy decor inserts. 

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “At Volkswagen, our priority is to offer our customers a comprehensive and value for money proposition. With these product enhancements on the Volkswagen Taigun, it will offer our customers added comfort, improved fuel efficiency and a heightened drive experience.”

The Volkswagen Taigun is now available at 152 sales touchpoints of the brand across India. The all-new car model can also be viewed via the 360-degree visualiser available on Volkswagen India’s website. Car availability and bookings can also be made online. 

Moreover, due to the rising input costs, VW also announced a price revision of about 2.5% to 4%, depending upon the different variants of Taigun and Tiguan. The price hike is effective on the two compact SUV models this year from May 2nd onwards.
