The Toyota Innova Crysta is powered by a 2.4-litre diesel engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 148hp and 343Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. There is no option for an automatic transmission. The power is channelled to the rear wheels only, as there is no AWD configuration on offer.

Meanwhile, the Innova HyCross is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 152hp and 187Nm torque by itself. This engine is paired with fifth-gen strong hybrid tech (M20A FXS) and can produce a combined power of 186hp. The hybrid MPV offers a mileage of 21.2 kmpl.

In terms of features, the Innova Crysta packs an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, a powered driver seat, picnic tables for the middle row, climate control, and more. Final Thoughts

Even though the Innova Crysta remains one of the most popular MPVs in the Indian market, Toyota will discontinue it next year. This is due to the upcoming Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) 3 emission norms that are slated to come into effect at the end of March 2027. While Toyota has not made any official announcement regarding the Innova Crysta’s future, the stringent emission norms will likely sound the death knell for the MPV. As things stand, it rivals  the Tata SafariKia Carnival, and Mahindra XUV700 in India.
