Skoda India is planning to refresh the Kushaq SUV with a facelifted model next year. Test mules of the Skoda Kushaq facelift have been spotted on Indian roads on multiple occasions. In a recent outing, the test mule confirmed the presence of a panoramic sunroof on the SUV. Other significant cosmetic changes are also expected. However, the Kushaq facelift will retain the powertrain of the current model.

Skoda Kushaq facelift: Panoramic sunroof to be available on top variants

The front and rear sections of the Kushaq facelift’s most recent test mule were draped in camouflage, just like the previous units. However, fresh spy shots confirmed the presence of a panoramic sunroof on the SUV. This feature will likely be limited to the higher variants in the lineup. Entry-level and mid-spec variants will have to contend with a single-pane sunroof.

The front fascia will feature a refreshed design for the LED headlamps and fog lamps. Skoda could also opt for a sleek light bar connecting the LED DRLs. The design of the grille and air vents will be updated as well. The bumper could get some minor tweaks, too. The profile of the SUV will remain largely unchanged. The alloy wheels could don an all-black look. At the back, the LED tail lamps will get slimmer. They will be connected by a sleek LED light bar.

The spy shots that have surfaced so far have not revealed any details about the Kushaq facelift’s interior. We expect the midsize SUV to get a new dashboard layout and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. The current model rocks a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. The facelift will also get a Level 2 ADAS package. We also expect features like Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Differential Locking System (EDS), 6 airbags (standard), and a 360-degree camera to make the cut.

Things will remain unchanged under the hood of the Skoda Kushaq facelift. It will continue to be offered in 2 engine options. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power of 115hp and 175Nm peak torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or torque converter gearbox. Skoda may add an 8-speed torque converter gearbox down the line. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm peak torque. It can be mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

Final Thoughts

The current Skoda Kushaq lineup starts at Rs 10.61 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.43 lakh. We expect the prices for the facelifted model to start at Rs 11 lakh. Upon launch, it will continue to rival the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and Volkswagen Taigun.
