PMV Eas-E: Everything you need to know

The PMV Eas-E is a quadricycle, offering seating options for two people. The passenger seat is behind the driver and the microcar has four doors, which give a point of entry on either side. The EV is 2,915mm long, 1,157mm wide, and 1,600mm tall. This makes it narrower than Bajaj Qute, which is 1,312 mm wide. The Eas-E has a wheelbase of 2,087mm, ground clearance of 170mm, and a kerb weight of 550kg.

The front fascia of the Eas-E features a blanked-off grille with circular LED headlights on either end. A narrow strip of LED DRLs runs through the grille. At the rear, the EV gets slim LED tail lamps along with a light bar stretching across the tailgate. The overall frame of the EV is quite compact and boxy.

The PMV Eas-E runs on a 48V lithium-ion-phosphate battery. It takes a total of four hours to charge this battery using a 15A socket. A 3 kW AC charger is also on offer. The permanent magnet synchronous motor fitted in the EV can generate a peak power output of 13hp and 50Nm peak torque. The EV can go from 0-40 kmph in under 5 seconds. It can also achieve a top speed of 70kmph. PMV claims a range of 200km for the Eas-E. There will be three battery options on offer which can provide varying ranges.

Inside, the PMV Eas-E features a digital infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, USB charging, keyless entry, and an LCD digital instrument cluster. The EV also comes with multiple drive modes, remote park assist, cruise control, regenerative braking, airbags for the driver and passenger, free-feet driving, and onboard navigation. The Eas-E will be 4G connected and will receive Over the Air updates regularly.

Conclusion

The PMV Eas-E can be bought in monotone and dual-tone colour schemes. PMV will be setting up a production facility near Pune in the coming months. Deliveries for the Eas-E are expected to roll out by the middle of next year. The EV currently does not have any rivals, however, it will compete against the ICE-powered Bajaj Qute which is also the only other quadricycle in the market. The EV will also rival the MG Air EV which is expected to be launched next year.
