New Toyota Fortuner GR Sport 4×4 Launched In India: A Bold And Sporty Avatar

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) appended another range-topping variant into its Fortuner product lineup, the all-new Toyota Fortuner GR Sport. The Japanese automaker launched the Fortuner GR Sport SUV in the Indian markets at a price which is Rs 3.8 lakhs more expensive than its Fortuner Legender 4×4 model. The all-new SUV comes with a range of upgrades on the front of its cosmetics, equipment and mechanical powertrain. 

The Toyota Fortuner GR Sport comes featuring a new piano black finished front grille and a restyled front and rear bumper while the spoiler is said to be similar to the Legender. The front bumper also sports new fog lamp bezels along with a new GR Sport badge mounted at the lower end while the air dam also comes revised. Other features visible on its exteriors include a body-coloured trim strip running between its slightly smoked LED taillamps, red brake callipers, black-finished alloy wheels and GR badging on the trunk lid and fenders amongst others.

Speaking of the Fortuner GR Sport interiors, the new SUV features equally sporty interiors which are highlighted by its black leather seats, suede upholstery and red stitching. The GR logo is engraved on the headrests, steering wheel and on the start/stop button. The centre console and instrument panel come with different trim finishings. On the tech front, the all-new Toyota Fortuner GR Sport comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, JBL audio system, gesture-controlled tailgate, a dual-zone automatic climate control, adjustable headrests and front armrests amongst others.

On the safety front, the new SUV comes equipped with several ADAS features like electronic stability control (ESP), traction control, etc. along with seven airbags. Coming to its mechanical specs, the Toyota Fortuner GR Sport is powered by the same 2.8L four-cylinder GD series turbocharged diesel engine coupled with a 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission. The engine delivers a peak power of 201bhp and 500Nm torque and the vehicle is exclusively offered with a 4WD layout. 

The Fortuner GR Sport price in India starts from Rs 48.43 lakhs (ex-showroom).
