Porsche India has added a new entry-level variant to the Taycan’s lineup. The Porsche Taycan RWD is priced at Rs 1.67 crore. It joins the 4S and Turbo variants in the EV’s lineup. The prices for the facelifted model of the Taycan were revealed in July 2024. The RWD variant undercuts the 4S by Rs 24 lakh, making the luxury sportscar more affordable in India.

The RWD variant of the Porsche Taycan is equipped with an 89kWh battery pack. The driving range of this variant lies between 503-590km. An 11kW home charger can fully replenish this battery pack in 9 hours. In international markets, this variant is also offered with the 105kWh battery pack that does duty on the 4S and Turbo variants. The driving range of 4S and Turbo variants lies between 549-642km. They can be charged up to 100% in 11 hours using the 11kW home charger.
The Porsche Taycan RWD generates a maximum power output of 408hp and 410Nm of torque with its rear-mounted electric motor. It can go from 0-100kmph in 4.8 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 230kmph. The dual motor on the 4S variant produces a peak power output of 517hp and 695Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the Turbo variant puts out 707hp and 890Nm.
Inside, the Porche Taycan flaunts a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and a passenger display. The steering wheel is integrated with the mode switch as a standard feature. Other features include four-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, a head-up display, and more. Porsche has also introduced two new upholstery options for the Taycan facelift.

Final Thoughts
In international markets, the Porsche Taycan is available in Turbo S and GT variants too. It remains to be seen whether these variants will be brought to India. The luxury sportscar rivals the likes of Jaguar I-Pace, BMW i5, and Audi e-tron GT.
