New Kia EV6 Launch Scheduled For June 2, 2022: Bookings Open On May 26th

Kia is all set to launch its much-awaited fully-electric 2022 Kia EV6 in India. The new Kia EV6 launch date has been officially scheduled for June 2 this year. The brand has also confirmed the crossover electric vehicle’s date for its pre-bookings, which will commence two days from now, i.e., on May 26th. 

The all-new Kia EV6 is based on Hyundai’s e-GMP platform architecture, which underpins the Hyundai Ioniq 5. According to sources, the base trim of the fully-electric car will be offered in an RWD layout while the top-spec trim will come in an AWD layout. With a futuristic design and a host of technical features, the new Kia EV6 will come as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in the country.

The 2022 Kia EV6 exteriors flaunt a sleek and modern design language. It features a muscular bonnet, a slender-looking front grille, a wide and chunky air dam, and LED taillights at the rear with a light bar running the length of its boot lid. The car is also flanked by blacked-out pillars and indicator-mounted ORVMS on its sides while a shark-fin antenna along with a spoiler rest on its roof. Moreover, it comes riding on 19-inch alloy wheels. 

Speaking of the Kia EV6 interiors, the all-electric crossover comes equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 16-speaker Meridian sound system as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, paddle shifters for regen function and an electric sunroof. On the front of safety and comfort, the car is packed with a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, ventilated front seats, drive modes, dual-zone automatic climate control, an electric parking brake with auto-hold function along with ADAS features.

The new fully-electric 2022 Kia EV6 will come with a 77.4kWh battery pack coupled with a single motor. The combined setup generates 22.8hp of power and 350Nm of torque in RWD configuration and 320.5hp and 605Nm of torque in AWD configuration. The Kia EV6 range is claimed to be up to 528kms on a single charge. 

The Kia EV6 price in India along with its availability will be disclosed by the brand upon its launch on June 2nd, 2022. The expected price of the car is around Rs 65 lakhs.
