Maruti Suzuki Fronx stands at dimensions of 3,995mm x 1,550mm x 1.765mm. While it may be an offshoot of Baleno, the Fronx borrows a lot of its SUV elements from the Grand Vitara. This includes its upright nose and the split headlamp setup. The Front also gets the NEXWave grille and NEXTre crystal block. Along the sides, the bodywork of the compact SUV also resembles that of the Grand Vitara.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx is underpinned by the same Heartect monocoque platform as the Baleno. It receives additional body cladding and newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels. These alloys are unique to the Fronx and aren’t found on any other Maruti SUV yet. The progressive roofline dips abruptly at the rear.

The interior layout of the Fronx is the same as that of Baleno. There are some exclusive detailing elements on the Fronx, like chrome highlights and a matte-like finish on the dashboard. The Fronx also gets the Black and Bordeaux two-tone colour theme for its interior. In terms of features, the compact SUV gets a 9.0-inch Smart Pro Play+ infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Head Up Display, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available in two powertrain options. Baleno’s discontinued Boosterjet engine makes a return on the Fronx. This 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine can produce a maximum power output of 100hp and 147Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Also on offer is the 1.2-litre K Series naturally aspirated petrol engine that can produce a maximum power output of 90hp and 113Nm peak torque. This engine can also be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver also come in dual-tone colour options. In India, Maruti Suzuki Fronx rivals Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
