After pulling the LX 500d from the market last month, Lexus has relaunched the updated version of the luxury SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 3 crore. The Lexus LX 500d is available in 2 variants – Urban and Overtrail. The latter is geared for off-road usage and fetches Rs 3.12 crore. Bookings for the SUV are currently open.

2025 Lexus LX 500d: What’s new?

The new Lexus LX 500d retains its bold stance and the signature chrome grille. Flanking the unique grille on either side are L-shaped LED headlamps. The air intakes are stacked vertically on the lower part of the front end. The SUV rests on 22-inch alloys. The LED tail lamps at the back are connected by a light bar. The Overtrail variant of the SUV gets a black radiator grille and matte grey aluminium wheels. Other elements like fog lamp cover, roof rails, door moldings, wheel arch moldings, door handles, and outer mirrors are blacked out too.

Inside, the new Lexus LX 500d gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch drive mode display, an 8-inch MID, and a Heads-Up Display. The rear seats get two 11.6-inch touchscreen entertainment displays with HDMI jacks, headphone jacks, and wireless remote control. Other features of the SUV include massage functions on the front seats, ventilated rear seats, a 25-speaker 3D Mark Levinson audio system, active noise control, 4-zone climate control, and more.

Lexus has updated the ADAS package with the following features: Pre-Collision System (PCS), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) & Lane Trace Assist (LTA), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Safe Exit Assist (SEA), Lane Departure Assist (LDA), and Automatic High Beam (AHB) & Adaptive High Beam System (AHS). The connected car tech has been updated with safety, remote control, and service features.

Overtrail variant

Things remain the same under the hood as the 2025 Lexus LX 500d continues to be powered by the 3.3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 305hp and 700Nm of torque. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The SUV is not available in a petrol powertrain. The Overtrail variant of the SUV gets front and rear differential locks instead of the standard centre differential lock on the Urban variant. There are 6 drive modes on the SUV – Normal, Eco, Comfort, Sport S, Sport S+, and Custom.
