The new Kia Sonet facelift has garnered over 1 lakh sales in India. The updated model of the compact SUV was launched in India in January 2024. Since then, the Sonet has seen a huge rise in popularity and amassed over 1 lakh sales. At the moment, the SUV averages over 10,000 sales per month. The automaker is now gearing up to launch the Syros SUV in India next year.

2024 Kia Sonet: Riding the wave of success
The petrol variants of Kia Sonet account for 76% of the sales. 34% of buyers preferred automatic and IMT variants. Lastly, the variants with the electric sunroof were the most popular among buyers, as they accounted for 79% of the sales.
There are several design tweaks on the Kia Sonet facelift. It features a split LED headlamp arrangement which is integrated with inverted LED DRLs. The front bumper and skid plate have been redesigned as well. At the back, the SUV features new LED tail lamps which are now connected by a sleek LED strip. The profile of the SUV is unchanged.
One of the reasons behind the Kia Sonet’s success in India is its extensive feature list. It retains the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system but adds a similar-sized digital instrument cluster which is larger than the one on the outgoing model. Other premium features of the SUV include a Bose audio system, a sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and more. The biggest highlight of the Sonet is its Level 1 ADAS package. This package sports features like lane keep assist, high beam assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and more. Other safety features on the SUV include six airbags, TPMS, ESC, and hill-start assist.
The Kia Sonet facelift is available in 3 engine options – 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 83hp and 115Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine on the Sonet churns out 120hp and 172Nm. It can be paired with an iMT or DCT gearbox. Lastly, the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 116hp and 250Nm of torque. This diesel engine gets the option of a manual gearbox on top of an iMT or automatic gearbox.
