Kia Carens’ price hiked for the second time this year

Kia India has hiked the prices for its MPV, Kia Carens, by up to Rs 50,000. This is the second price hike that the MPV has received this year. The 1.5 6MT Prestige 7 seater variant gets the highest price hike of Rs 50,000. Since its launch last year, Kia Carens has been hugely successful in India, having one of the longest waiting periods in its category.

Kia Carens petrol variants updated price list 

Kia Carens comes in two petrol engine configurations. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine can generate a maximum power of 115hp and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine can produce a peak power output of 140hp and gets the option of a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

Kia Carens diesel variants updated price list

Kia Carens also comes in a diesel engine configuration. The 1.5-litre diesel engine can generate a maximum power of 115hp and gets an option of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a torque converter automatic transmission. All diesel variants get a price hike of Rs 30,000, except the Luxury MT 7-seater variant, which gets a bump of Rs 35,000.

Prices for Kia Carens now start at Rs 10 lakh for the base variant and go all the way up to 18 lakh for the top-spec variant. The MPV comes with features like ambient lighting, leather upholstery, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an air purifier, a single pane sunroof, Kia Connects telematic system, a wireless charger and more. Safety features include 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and more. Currently, Kia Carens rivals Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6, and Mahindra Marazzo.
