Jeep Meridian gets a Track Edition, priced at Rs 35.95 lakh

Jeep India has added a new Track Edition to the Meridian SUV’s lineup. The special edition is based on the top-spec Overland trim of the Jeep Meridian. Its prices start at Rs 35.95 lakh and go up to Rs 37.82 lakh. The SUV comes in 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. It gets some cosmetic and feature upgrades over the regular model.

Jeep Meridian Track Edition: What’s new?

The special edition Meridian gets piano black accents on the grille, badges and mouldings. The hood gets a new decal. The tailgate sports an exclusive ‘Track Edition’ badge. Other than these tweaks, the SUV remains cosmetically unchanged.

Inside, the Track Edition gets a suede trim with contrast stitching on the dashboard. The dual-tone leatherette and suede upholstery has quilted stitching. The cabin is spruced up with Dark Espresso accents and Piano Black bezels. The steering wheel is wrapped in ‘Cortina’ leather. There is ‘Track Edition’ branding on the dashboard and floor mats.

The special edition Jeep Meridian does not get any feature or instrumentation upgrades. Since it is based on the Overland trim, the Track Edition is packed with premium features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-speaker Alpine music system, ventilated seating for the driver and front passenger, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS, and more. Last month, Jeep updated the second-row seats of the Meridian with a sliding function.

Things remain the same under the hood as well, as the Jeep Meridian Track Edition continues to be powered by the 2-litre diesel engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 170hp and 350Nm of torque. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. There are 4×2 and 4×4 configurations on offer. Other variants of the SUV are also available with a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed torque converter gearbox.

Final Thoughts

Jeep is offering the Track Edition of the Meridian with the ‘Jeep Confidence 7’ package. It comprises benefits like a 7-year warranty, assured buyback, maintenance services, roadside assistance, and other priority services. The prices for the regular variants of the SUV start at Rs 23.33 lakh. It rivals the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, Hyundai Tucson, and Nissan X-Trail in India.
