Jeep Grand Cherokee: All the highlightsÂ
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee gets a host of changes. Some design elements are clearly inspired by other Jeep offerings, Meridian and Wagoneer. Up front, there are sleek LED headlights and DRLs flanked on either side of the signature seven-slat Jeep grille. The central air intakes have been placed on the bumper. The side profile of the Grand Cherokee is characterised by a belt line that runs from the headlights to the tail lamps. The SUV stands on five-spoke machined alloy wheels. The rear profile flaunts a new, sleeker design for the LED tail lamps.
Inside the cabin, the Grand Cherokee gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with another 10.1-inch touchscreen display for the front passenger. The central infotainment system is seamlessly integrated with the HVAC controls, which come with their own physical buttons. Other features include a 19-speaker sound system, a headrest-mounted entertainment screen for rear passengers, premium upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and ADAS tech. The new Grand Cherokee is offered with a 5-seat layout in India, much like its predecessor.
Under the hood, the Grand Cherokee is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that puts out a maximum power of 272hp and 400Nm peak torque. This engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. There are four terrain modes on offer – Auto, Sport, Mud, and Snow. Grand Cherokee is not offered in a diesel powertrain in India.

ConclusionÂ
India is the first overseas market to locally assemble the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is also the first market to get the SUV in a right-hand drive configuration. The Grand Cherokee rivals other premium SUVs like the Volvo XC90, Land Rover Discovery, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, and BMW X5.
