Jeep Compass and Meridian get a price hike

Prices for Jeep Compass and Meridian SUV have been increased by up to Rs 43,000 and Rs 57,000 respectively. Back in April, the automaker had reduced the starting price for the two SUVs while hiking the prices for the higher variants. The Jeep Compass range now starts at Rs 21.73 lakh while the Meridian starts at Rs 33.40 lakh.

Jeep Compass: Updated price list

Here’s what the new price list for Jeep Compass looks like.

The 2.0-litre diesel engine on the Jeep Compass produces a maximum power output of 170hp and 350Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The automaker plans on introducing a 1.3-litre petrol engine for the Compass next year.

Jeep Meridian: Updated price list

Here’s what the updated price list for the Meridian looks like.

The Meridian is also offered with a sole 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces a maximum power output of 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Like the Compass, the Meridian also gets 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic transmission options. The entry-level Limited MT and AT variants of the Meridian were recently discontinued by the automaker.

Conclusion

Jeep Compass rivals the higher variants of MG Hector and Tata Harrier along with other premium SUVs like Citroen C5, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Hyundai Tucson. Meanwhile, the Meridian rivals the likes of Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner.
