Hyundai Exter: Here’s what the leaked images suggest
The leaked interior images give a sneak peek into the central console and steering wheel of the SUV. The infotainment system and the steering wheel design on the Exter are the same as Hyundai Aura and Grand i10 Nios. The three-spoke multifunction steering comes with mounted audio and calling controls. The Exter also gets an all-digital instrument cluster, similar to the one on Verna and i20. It will support multiple Indian languages.
Outside, the Hyundai Exter gets a boxy design with the silhouette of a proper SUV. The front profile is defined by an upright nose and split LED headlamps with H-shaped LED DRLs. The Exter also gets a wide grille and a faux skid plate. The SUV retains its boxiness and upright posture at the back too. Connecting the two tail lamps is a textured black panel. A skid plate can be found at the rear as well. The tail lamps get the ‘H’ design, similar to the DRLs up front.
Under the hood, the Exter gets a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine also powers other Hyundai offerings like Grand i10 Nios, Aura, i20, and Venue. It can produce a maximum power output of 83hp and 114Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.

Conclusion
Hyundai Exter will be offered in five variants – EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. Hyundai has confirmed that the SUV will receive six airbags as standard across all variants. There are six single-tone and three dual-tone colour schemes on offer. Upon launch, Hyundai Exter will rival the likes of Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Citroen C3.
