Citroen C3 hatchback to get a price hike of Rs 17,500

The Citroen C3 hatchback will be getting more expensive next month. The automaker announced that the hatchback will receive a price hike of up to Rs 17,500. This is the third price hike for Citroen C3 this year. The hatchback was launched in July 2022 at a starting price of Rs 5.70 lakh.

Citroen C3: Third price hike this year

Back in January 2023, Citroen raised the prices for the C3 by Rs 28,000. This was followed by another price hike in March. After the latest bump in cost, the hatchback will start at Rs 6.33 lakh. The C3 is available in three variants – Live, Feel, and the recently introduced, Shine.

Citroen eC3 EV to launch in January next year

Citroen offers the C3 in two powertrain options – 1.2L Puretech 110 and 1.2L Puretech 82. The former is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired with a 6-speed transmission. It produces a maximum power of 110hp and 190Nm of torque. The Puretech 82 is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine mated to a 5-speed transmission. This engine produces a maximum power of 82hp and 115Nm of torque.

Citroen C3 comes loaded with a bunch of features inside. The hatchback gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, keyless entry, tilt-adjustable steering, and steering-mounted controls. It also receives dual airbags on the front along with a parking sensor.

2022 Citroen C3

Citroen also launched an all-electric version of the C3 hatchback this year. Citroen eC3 is based on its ICE sibling and is powered by a single electric motor that can produce a peak power output of 57hp and 143Nm torque. The 29.2 kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 320km.

Conclusion

Citroen India also revealed the C3 Aircross SUV in India last month. The SUV retains the CMP modular platform and the 1.2L engine. The automaker plans on launching the C3 Aircross in India in the coming months. Meanwhile, the C3 hatchback rivals the likes of Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
