Bookings for Hyundai Creta facelift now open

Hyundai is set to take the wraps off the new Creta facelift on January 16. The automaker opened the booking window for the midsize SUV today. Buyers can reserve their model of the new Creta for a token amount of Rs 25,000. As a part of their marketing process leading up to the launch, Hyundai also dropped a few teaser images, giving a brief look at the interior and exterior styling of the upcoming SUV.

2023 Hyundai Creta facelift: What to expect?

Up front, the new Hyundai Creta gets a boxier design and a more upfront stance than the outgoing model. An LED light strip runs across the new wide grille and inverts along its edges. The LED headlamps get a design tweak as well and are now positioned along the bumper. At the back, the Creta facelift gets an LED lightbar which follows the design language of the one at the front. The rear bumper looks more muscular as well. The teaser images do not show the profile of the SUV, but from the spy shots we have seen over the months, it is not expected to get any notable changes.

Inside, the 2023 Hyundai Creta facelift gets a new design for the dashboard. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment is fused with a digital instrument cluster of similar size, forming a dual-screen arrangement. This new arrangement exudes a cockpit-like feel. The AC vents on the dashboard have been redesigned as well. There are some physical controls on the dashboard, but there seems to be a touch panel as well. The automaker has not revealed the design for the steering wheel, but recent spy shots suggest the Creta facelift will get the two-spoke steering from the new Verna. The highlight of the SUV will be an ADAS package and a 360-degree camera.

Things remain the same under the hood as the Hyundai Creta facelift continues to be powered by the 115hp producing 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engines. It also gets a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 160hp. This engine replaces the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that was discontinued on the existing Creta. All three engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT.

The new Hyundai Creta facelift will be made available in 7 variants – E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, and SX(O). There are 6 mono-tone colour options including Robust Emerald Pearl (New), Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki, Abyss Black, Atlas White, Titan Grey and 1 dual-tone colour option available in Atlas White with Black Roof. Prices for the current-gen Hyundai Creta start at Rs 10.87 lakh and go up to Rs 19.20 lakh. Hyundai will reveal the pricing for the facelift on January 16. Upon launch, the midsize SUV will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
