Audi E5 Sportback: Everything you need to know
The new Audi E5 Sportback stands at dimensions of 4,881mm x 1,959mm x 1,478 mm. It is underpinned by the Advanced Digitized Platform. This platform is a result of a collaborative effort between Audi and SAIC. The EV looks very similar to the Audi E Concept that was unveiled by the brand last year. In a departure from other Audi offerings, the E5 Sportback features the new ‘AUDI’ lettering instead of the four-ring badging. The automaker has taken a minimalist approach to design, featuring a slim grille and black loop circles up front. The rear end of the EV also gets the black loops. These loops house the Matrix headlamps and tail lights, along with the sensors, radar, and air curtains.
The minimalist design extends to the interior as well. The dashboard is covered by a 27-inch 4K display. This display is highly customisable. There are no physical buttons on the dashboard. The display runs Audi OS and is powered by the Snapdragon 8295 automotive chipset. Other features include the AI-powered Audi Assistant and the LiDAR-based Audi 360 Assisted Driving System.
The Audi E5 Sportback will be offered in 4 powertrain options. These powertrains will produce a power output of 300hp, 408hp, 578hp, and 787hp, respectively. The top-spec variant will have an AWD configuration. It will also rock the ‘Quattro’ badging. It can go from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Meanwhile, the entry-level variant will be powered by a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle. On a full charge, the E5 Sportback will offer a 770km driving range. With a 10-minute charge, this battery pack can power the EV up to 370km.
