4th-Gen Skoda Superb to debut globally on November 2

Skoda will be taking the wraps off the next-generation Skoda Superb next month. The global debut for the sedan has been scheduled for November 2. Skoda has also released some final design sketches of the sedan, after dropping multiple teasers leading up to the debut. The Superb will be officially launched next year.

4th-gen Skoda Superb: What we know so far

The next-gen Skoda Superb gets a new design for its grille. This new grille also houses the ADAS sensors. The LED headlamps flanking the grille are sleeker than the ones on the outgoing version. The automaker will incorporate crystalline elements in the sedan’s LED headlights and tail lamps. The new Superb stands at dimensions of 4,912mm x 1,849mm x 1,481mm and has a wheelbase of 2,841mm. Its boot space capacity is 645 litres.

Inside, the new Skoda Superb gets a large 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There are three customisable rotary control knobs right under this display. The drive selector is mounted on the steering. The ADAS package offered with the new Superb gets features like Crossroad Assist, Turn Assist, Front Assist, Predictive Cyclist Protection, and more. The sedan will have 10 airbags.

The 4th-gen sedan sports a versatile powertrain. Buyers get to choose from 2 petrol engines, 2 diesel engines, and a plug-in hybrid. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine can put out 150hp by itself and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It also receives mild-hybrid tech. The 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine can put out 204hp and 265hp, depending on the tuning. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and gets an AWD configuration.

Conclusion

The new Skoda Superb will launch globally in 2024, but it may take some time to reach Indian shores. Currently, Skoda is planning to introduce the current-gen Superb in the Indian market after taking it off due to its failure to meet the new emission norms. Before being pulled from India, the Superb range was priced between Rs 34.19 lakh – Rs 37.29 lakh.
