2023 Hyundai Verna: Everything we know so far
The next-gen Hyundai Verna has undergone a design overhaul and now comes with a wider grille which resembles that of the Hyundai Tucson. The sedan also gets a split headlamp setup with a sleek LED light bar running across the bonnet, acting as a DRL.
Along the sides, the Hyundai Verna features muscular lines running along the doors, giving the SUV a sporty look. Details about the wheels are currently unknown. At the rear, the tail lamps get a new design as well. A light bar connects the two tail lamps and bends downwards from their extremities, giving the sedan a unique look.
Hyundai also confirmed two powertrain options for the 2023 Verna – 1.5-litre MPi Petrol and 1.5-litre Turbo GDi Petrol. There are no diesel engine options on offer. The turbo GDi petrol unit can produce a maximum power output of 160hp. Transmission options for this engine include a 6-speed manual gearbox and 7-speed DCT. The naturally aspirated petrol engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or an IVT CVT automatic.
The new Hyundai Verna will be made available in four trims – EX, S, SX, and SX(O). The MPi engine will feature on entry-level trims while the higher trims will get the turbo petrol engine. The turbo petrol engine currently does duty on Creta, Seltos, and Carens.
