200 units of Honda Elevate delivered in a single day in Chennai

Honda launched its debut midsize SUV in India, Elevate, earlier this month at a starting price of Rs 11 lakh. The automaker reportedly rolled out 200 units of Honda Elevate as a part of a mega delivery event in Chennai. The delivery rollout process for Elevate is currently underway across the country. The SUV is manufactured locally in India and the automaker also plans on exporting it to foreign markets.

Honda Elevate: An instant success?

Since its launch earlier this month, Honda has garnered a lot of interest around its debut midsize SUV in the country. Production for the SUV began in July, and it was launched at a starting price of Rs 11 lakh on September 4. The Elevate is available in four variants – SV, V, VX, ZX. The top-spec ZX CVT trim fetches Rs 16 lakh.

Honda Elevate sports dimensions of 4,312mm x 1,790mm x 1,650mm and a wheelbase of 2,650mm. The SUV has a ground clearance of 220mm. At the front, the Elevate gets a wide radiator grille and a muscular nose. The LED headlamps are connected by a chrome bar while the LED tail lamps are bridged by a light strip.

Inside, the Honda Elevate gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a single-pane sunroof, an 8-speaker surround sound system, and a Honda Sensing ADAS package.

The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine powering the Honda Elevate can generate a maximum power output of 121hp and 145Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. Manual variants of the Elevate have a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.31kmpl while the CVT variants offer a claimed mileage of 16.92kmpl.

Conclusion

Honda Elevate is available in 7 single-tone and 3 dual-tone colour options. Honda is reportedly working on an all-electric version of the SUV as well. In India, the Elevate rivals the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos, Citroen C3 Aircross, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
