Hyundai Exter: What’s on offer?

Hyundai has confirmed that the Exter will get a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine also does duty on other Hyundai offerings like Grand i10 Nios, Aura, i20, and Venue. It is capable of producing a maximum power output of 83hp and 114Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. Hyundai will also launch a CNG variant of the Exter alongside the petrol offering.

Hyundai has also confirmed that the Exter will be made available in five trims – EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. As the name implies, the top-spec trim will come with connected car tech. While Hyundai has not revealed the interiors, the micro SUV is expected to get an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, six airbags, and an electric roof. The interior layout may look similar to the Grand i10 Nios.

What Hyundai has revealed is the external design. Hyundai Exter has an overall boxy design and the silhouette of a proper SUV. Upfront, it gets an upright nose and split LED headlamps with H-shaped LED DRLs. The Exter also gets a wide grille and a faux skid plate.
