Top CNG cars with factory-fitted CNG kit in India

This list contains top CNG cars with factory-fitted CNG kit in India. As CNG fitted cars have the advantage of running low cost, which is one of the major reasons for people to choose them. CNG produces less emission as compared to petrol and diesel cars. The legal system supports CNG vehicles as well as the state provides lower road tax on them. Hyundai and Maruti are two brands leading the CNG market for now. And here are a few options that one can consider buying.

There are two CNG variants available in Alto 800. The LXi variant is priced at Rs 4.33 lakh ex-showroom. While the LXi (O) variant is priced at Rs 4.36 lakh ex-showroom. The car runs on a 0.8-litre petrol engine which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. 

The maximum power the car produces while running on CNG is 41 PS and the maximum torque of 60 Nm. The mileage you can achieve with this variant is 31.59 km/kg. In the LXi variant, the front power window gets AC and a dual-tone interior. In terms of safety, the Alto 800 LXi gets a parking sensor, ABS with EBD, driver-side airbags. With the LXi (O) variant having additional front passenger airbags.

  • Maruti Suzuki Celerio

The car is available in petrol and CNG variants by the company. Celerio is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine that generates 59 ps of max power and 78 Nm of peak torque. Unlike the petrol version, the CNG variant is available only in manual transmission which is a 5-speed one. 

The CNG option is available on the VXI and VXI (O) trim only claimed to reach a fuel mileage of 31.76km/kg. Both the variants include features like front and rear power window, power steering, AC, driver airbags, ABS with EBD. The price of the car is from 5.72 Lakhs and 5.78 Lakhs ex-showroom respectively for both variants.

  • Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

One of the best-selling cars in the budget segment because of its name value and reliability. The Wagon R is available in both Petrol and Diesel variants. LXi and LXi (O) variants are available in the Maruti Wagon R’s CNG range. 

These variants are priced at Rs 5.45 lakh and Rs 5.52 lakh ex-showroom respectively. The old and reliable 1.0-litre engine that makes 60 PS of top power and 78 Nm of torque continues to power the CNG version of the Wagon R. company will update the engine to BS-VI norms soon. The fuel efficiency of the Maruti Wagon R CNG is 32.52 km/kg.

  • Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

Ideal for people with big Families. The company has availed Ertiga with a 1.5-litre petrol engine which is good for 92PS of top power and 122 Nm of maximum torque. The same comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is the only SUV segment CNG car in India as of now. The CNG version is available on the VXI trim only which is priced at Rs 9.14 lakh ex-showroom.

  • Maruti Suzuki Eeco

The car recently received a BSVi engine update for both CNG and petrol variants. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine which is capable of making 63 PS power and 85 Nm torque. The same is mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The CNG option is only available on the 5-seater AC CNG variant at the price of Rs 5.18 lakh ex-showroom. The fuel economy remains at 21.94 kmpl.

  • Hyundai Aura

The only sedan in the Indian market as of now to provide a company fitted CNG kit. The CNG option is available in only the S variant and can be paired with 3 engine options being a 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 1.2-litre diesel and a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine. Running on CNG the car produces 68 Bhp of power and 95 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. 

The price of the CNG variant is Rs 7.43 Lakh ex-showroom, India. The car offers tons of features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD. Along with these, there are some additional functions like Day & Night mirror, projector fog lamps, central locking, rear defogger, impact sensing door unlock and speed sensing door auto-lock.

  • Hyundai Santro

Once this car was on the top of the hatchback segment by the company. The new next-generation Santro was released last year. The updated model comes with a BSVI compiled 1.1-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine. Running on CNG the same produces 59PS of max power and 84Nm of peak torque. The claimed mileage of the CNG Santro stands at 30.48km/kg. Hyundai Santro CNG is priced at Rs 5.86 lakh and 5.99 lakh respectively.

  • Hyundai Grand i10 Nios

The updated model of the familiar Hyundai Grand i10. The company recently added a bi-fuel option to this car. The CNG kit will come with the 1.2-litre petrol engine capable of producing 69 Ps of maximum power when running on CNG along with 95Nm of torque. The CNG variant is mated with an only a 5-speed manual gearbox. 

The company offers CNG in only Magna and Sports. The claimed mileage of this CNG option is 20.7 km/kg. The prices of these CNG variants are Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 7.33 lakh ex-showroom for the Magna and Sportz respectively.
