The primary driver behind the Toyota Innova HyCross’s success in India is its high-end feature set. Its dashboard packs a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone mirroring and connected car tech with over 65 features. The second row has Ottoman seating. Other features include dual-zone air conditioning, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, cruise control, individual digital screens for rear passengers, wireless charging, and much more.
The HyCross is one of the safest MPVs in India. Bharat NCAP awarded it a 5-star safety rating in June 2025. It packs 6 airbags, 3-point seatbelts and reminders for all passengers, ISOFIX anchorages, Pedestrian Protection System (PPS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS). Its ADAS package consists of features like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), and Road Sign Assist (RSB).

Powering the Toyota Innova Hycross is a 2.0-litre petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 174hp and 205Nm of torque. In a strong hybrid configuration, it puts out 184hp. This engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. The MPV offers a fuel economy of 16.13kmpl. Only the top-spec variants of the MPV are available with a strong-hybrid configuration.
Mr Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “We are proud to celebrate a significant achievement of over 2 lakh Innova HyCross sales, highlighting the model’s strong legacy and enduring appeal among customers. This milestone also reflects growing customer trust in Toyota’s self-charging hybrid technology, along with the brand’s commitment to design, performance, comfort, and reliability. It further motivates us to continue delivering market-relevant products, advanced technologies, and a seamless ownership experience aligned with evolving customer expectations. We extend our sincere gratitude to our customers and remain confident that the Innova HyCross will continue to inspire confidence and set new benchmarks in the mobility ecosystem.”

Final Thoughts
Since its introduction, the Innova HyCross has outsold the Innova Crysta by a wide margin. The latter will be discontinued in India next year due to Cafe 3 emission norms. Toyota will launch a stripped-down, non-hybrid version of the Innova HyCross to replace it.
