Hyundai Motor India has updated its midsize sedan. Prices for the 2026 Hyundai Verna start at Rs 10.98 lakh and go up to Rs 18.25 lakh. It comes in 6 trim levels and 2 engine options. The new model gets cosmetic, feature, and instrumentation upgrades. The automaker has also added new paint shades for its bestselling sedan.

The 2026 Verna stands at dimensions of 4,565mm x 1,765mm x 1,475mm and has a 2,670mm wheelbase. The new model follows the design language of the outgoing version. Its front fascia features a new all-black chrome grille. This grille is flanked on either side by new projector LED headlamps. The bumper has been reworked as well. Along the sides, the sedan features 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. No changes have been made to its profile. At the back, the LED tail lamps are connected by a light bar.
The 2026 Hyundai Verna comes in 6 paint shades: Starry Night, Titanium Black, Titan Grey, Atlas White, Classy Blue, and Titan Grey Matte. The latter two are new colour options. The Atlas White colour variant is also available in a dual-tone scheme with a black roof.
Inside, the midsize sedan flaunts a dual-tone black-and-beige colour theme for the cabin. Higher variants are available with leatherette upholstery. The gear knob is also covered in leatherette material. The steering wheel has four illuminated dots signifying ‘H’ in Morse code. The 8-way adjustable driver’s seat has memory and welcome retract functions.
Hyundai has retained the dual-screen setup for the touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver’s display on the new Verna. Each screen measures 10.25 inches. There is support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include an 8-speaker Bose sound system, adjustable headrests for front and rear seats, a rear armrest, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, a Surround View Monitor (SVM), wireless charging, and more than 70 connected features.
On the safety front, the sedan rocks 7 airbags (6 as standard across all variants), a dashcam, rain-sensing wipers, Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with VSM, ABS with EBD, 3-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminder for all seats, ISOFIX anchorages, a burglar alarm, rear parking sensors, and more features. The Level 2 ADAS package has over 20 functions.
Things remain the same under the hood as the Hyundai Verna continues to be offered in 2 engine options. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. Transmission options for this powertrain include a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine puts out 160hp and 253Nm. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Final Thoughts
Hyundai Motor India has also kick-started its ‘Respect the Young’ campaign for the new Verna. With the introduction of the new model, the sedan is set to see a boost in sales. It rivals the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in India.
