The 3rd-gen Honda Amaze is the newest vehicle to be crash tested by the Bharat NCAP. The compact sedan passed the test with flying colours and was awarded a 5-star safety rating by the program. This 5-star rating is applicable to all six variants of the sedan. The 3rd-gen Amaze is sold alongside its 2nd-gen counterpart in India. It comes in 3 trim levels – V, VX, and ZX.

Honda Amaze: Bharat NCAP crash test results explained
In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) test, the Honda Amaze scored 28.33 points out of a possible 32. This test comprises 3 crash tests: Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier, Side Movable Deformable Barrier, and Side Pole Impact.
In the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier test (14.33 out of 16), the driver’s head, neck, pelvis, and feet showed good protection, while the chest and legs showed adequate protection. The protection offered to the passenger was good overall.
In the Side Movable Deformable Barrier test (14 out of 16), the head, neck, lower abdomen, and pelvis showed good protection, while the protection offered to the chest was marginal. In the Side Pole Impact test, the sedan offered good protection overall.
In the Child Occupant Protection (COP) test, the Amaze scored 40.81 points out of a possible 49. The sedan was crash tested with dummies for 18-month and 3-year-old children. It garnered a Dynamic Score of 23.81 points (out of 24), a Vehicle Assessment Score of 5 points (out of 13), and a maximum possible score of 12 points in CRS installation.
The Honda Amaze offers 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, seatbelt reminders, ISOFIX anchorages, and rear parking sensors as standard safety features. The top-spec variant also comes with an ADAS package comprising features like Collision Mitigation Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Lead Car Departure Alert, and Auto High Beam.

Final Thoughts
Prices for the 3rd-gen Amaze start at Rs 7.45 lakh and go up to Rs 10 lakh. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that can be linked to an MT or CVT gearbox. The compact sedan rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor in India.
