Volkswagen Virtus facelift: What to expect?
The new Virtus facelift gets some significant rework on its front fascia. The lower grille on the front bumper has an eye-catching diamond-like pattern. There are fog lamp housings on either side of this grille. The bumper also makes room for the front parking sensors and a camera sensor. The top section of the grille has a glossy finish. The VW logo on this grille is illuminated. There is a red GT badge for GT-Line variants. The design of the LED headlamps and DRLs has been carried forward from the outgoing models.
The profile of the sedan reveals new 16-inch alloy wheels. The wheels on the GT-Line variant are completely blacked out. The red brake callipers provide a splash of colour. There is GT badging on the front doors. The ORVMs extend the 360-degree camera setup. The standard variants of the sedan will rock a dual-tone colour theme for the alloy wheels. The only change along the rear section comes in the form of black detailing on the bumper.
Volkswagen India has not revealed the interior setup of the Virtus facelift. It is expected to follow the general design language of its SUV sibling – the Volkswagen Taigun. This means it will get a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver’s cockpit. The compressor will be updated to give the climate control system a boost. The 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system will be carried forward from the outgoing model, but it will be updated with a new OS and an AI voice assistant.
In terms of new feature additions, the Virtus facelift will get a 360-degree camera system and front parking sensors. Features like automatic climate control, wireless charging, and an 8-speaker sound system will be carried forward from the outgoing model. The facelift will continue without a panoramic sunroof, as it will retain the single-pane unit of its predecessor.

No changes will be made under the hood of the new Volkswagen Virtus facelift. It will continue to be offered with 1-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engine options. The former generates a maximum power output of 113hp and 175Nm of torque. On the current model, it can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The facelift will replace the latter transmission option with an 8-speed torque converter gearbox. The 1.5-litre petrol engine puts out 148hp and 250Nm. It can be linked to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT.
