Volkswagen Tiguan Exclusive Edition launched, gets new cosmetic updates

Volkswagen has launched the new Volkswagen Tiguan Exclusive Edition in India at a price of Rs 33.49 lakh. The ‘Exclusive Edition’ of Volkswagen’s bestselling SUV comes with a few cosmetic upgrades and exclusive branding across the body. Apart from the cosmetic updates, the SUV remains mechanically unchanged. The ‘Exclusive Editon’ has been made available in two colours – Pure White and Oryx White.

Volkswagen Tiguan Exclusive Edition: Here’s what the special edition has to offer

The Volkswagen Tiguan Exclusive Edition sports load sill protection, something that isn’t found on the regular variant of the SUV. Apart from that, the special edition of the SUV also gets 18-inch Sebring Sterling Silver five-spoke alloy wheels, an upgrade over the standard 18-inch alloys on the regular model.

Tiguan’s ‘Exclusive Edition’ also gets dynamic hubcaps for the wheels along with aluminium foot pedals. The ‘Exclusive Edition’ badging can be found on the interior and exterior of the Tiguan. The special edition has been made available in only two colour schemes – Pure White and Oryx White.

There are no other changes on the SUV other than the ones mentioned above. VW Tiguan Exclusive Edition retains the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 190hp (140kW) and 320 Nm peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission with 4MOTION technology. Volkswagen claims a fuel economy of 12.65 kmpl on the Tiguan.

Other features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control, intelligent and adaptive LED matrix headlights, Vienna leather seats, soft-touch dashboard, ambient lights, flat bottom multi-function steering wheel, three-zone Climatronic air conditioning system with touch control, and a panoramic sunroof.

When it comes to safety, Volkswagen Tiguan gets six airbags, ABS, ESC, anti-slip regulation (ASR), EDL, hill start assist, hill descent control, TPMS, and driver alert systems.

The Volkswagen Tiguan Exclusive Edition will lock horns with Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, and Citroen C5 Aircross.
