Tata Altroz Racer: What’s on offer?

The Tata Altroz Racer sports the same design as the regular model but gets some key cosmetic changes that give it a sporty look. Two while racing stripes run along the bonnet and roof of the hatchback. The bonnet and roof are blacked out to adhere to the dual-tone colour theme. The C pillars and OVRMs of the car are also finished in black. The special ‘Racer’ badging can be found on the front fenders of the car. The Altroz Racer is available in 3 dual-tone colour options – Atomic Orange, Avenue White, and Pure Grey.

Inside, the Tata Altroz Racer retains the basic layout and design of the regular variant but gets some feature upgrades. This includes a larger free-floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, a voice-activated electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. Safety features include 6 airbags, ESC, and more.

Tata Altroz Racer is powered by the 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine from the Altroz iTurbo. On the Racer, this engine puts out 120hp and 170Nm, which is 10hp and 30Nm more than the output on the iTurbo. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. There are no automatic transmission options as of yet, but Tata may add a 7-speed DCT gearbox in the coming months.

Apart from the Altroz Racer, Tata Motors is offering discounts on the Safari, Harrier, Nexon, Tiago, Tigor, regular Altroz, and Punch this month. The Safari & Harrier get the biggest discount package, worth Rs 2.75 lakh. The Nexon SUV gets discounts worth up to Rs 1.35 lakh. Meanwhile, the Tiago and Tigor can be had with offers in the range of Rs 1.15 lakh. The regular Altroz gets Rs 1.05 lakh off. Lastly, the Punch SUV is available with offers worth up to Rs 40,000.

The regular Altroz is available in two powertrains – a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. The former puts out 88hp while the latter produces a maximum power output of 90hp. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT.
