Two new affordable sunroof variants added to Hyundai Exter’s lineup

The Hyundai Exter lineup has been refreshed with 2 new variants – S Smart and SX Smart. These variants are available in petrol and CNG powertrains. They are priced at Rs 7.69 lakh and Rs 8.16 lakh respectively. Previously, the single-pane sunroof feature was available on S+ and higher variants. The S Smart trim has made it affordable by Rs 24,000.

Hyundai Exter: New variants explained

Here is the price list of the S Smart and SX Smart variants of Hyundai Exter.

The S Smart trim sits just above the S trim of the Hyundai Exter. It comes with a single pane sunroof, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, 15-inch steel wheels, and rear AC vents. Meanwhile, the SX Smart trim gets all these features plus a smart key with push-button start, a sharkfin antenna, and projector headlamps. Buyers can also choose to upgrade to a rear camera and a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto at a premium of Rs 14,999. These upgrades come with a 3-year warranty.

Hyundai Exter is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 83hp and 114Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. In a CNG configuration, this engine puts out 69hp and 95.2Nm. However, the CNG variants are only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Final Thoughts

Hyundai Exter is one of the fastest-selling compact SUVs in India. Its regular lineup starts at Rs 6.21 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.51 lakh. It rivals Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Skoda Kylaq, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
