New SX+ variant added to the Hyundai Verna lineup

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has added a new SX+ variant to the Verna sedan’s lineup. The Hyundai Verna SX+ is priced at Rs 13.79 lakh. It is available in MT and iVT gearbox options. The new SX+ variant gets a lot of premium features from the top-spec SX(O) trim. It remains mechanically and cosmetically unchanged.

Hyundai Verna SX+: What’s new?

Here are the prices for the MT and iVT variants of the Hyundai Verna SX+.

The new SX+ variant of the Hyundai Verna gets a premium 8-speaker sound system from Bose, leather seat upholstery, ventilated and heated front seats, front parking sensors, and LED headlamps. Additionally, it gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The top-spec SX(O), SX Turbo, and SX(O) Turbo variants of the sedan are equipped with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. These variants are now available with a wired-to-wireless adapter priced at Rs 4,500. This adapter provides a seamless wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay experience. It has also been made available on selected variants of the Grand i10 Nios, Exter, Aura, Venue, Venue N Line, and Alcazar.

The Hyundai Verna SX+ is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. The manual transmission offers a mileage of 18.6 km/l, while the iVT gearbox has a fuel economy of 19.6 km/l.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Hyundai Verna range start at Rs 11.07 lakh and go up to Rs 17.55 lakh. The sedan is manufactured in India and exported to global markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. In India, the Verna faces competition from the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
