Maruti Suzuki Wagon R has crossed the 10 lakh sales landmark in India. The current-gen version of the hatchback was introduced in India in January 2019. It took the Wagon R just over 5 years to accomplish this sales feat. Since its launch in 1999, the Wagon R has achieved more than 32 lakh cumulative sales. In FY2023, the automaker sold 2,12,340 units of the hatchback. This makes the Wagon R one of the most popular cars in India right now.

From April to June 2024, the automaker sold 46,132 units of the hatchback in India. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is the top-selling offering from the automaker in the current fiscal year so far. It is placed ahead of other popular offerings like Brezza, Dzire, and Swift.

The current-gen Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is packed with features like the 7-inch Smartplay Studio infotainment system with smartphone navigation technology, a 4-speaker sound system, steering-mounted controls and an auto gear shift. It also comes with 12+ safety features including two airbags, a speed alert system, seat belt pre-tensioners, force limiters, seat belt reminders, rear parking sensors, hill hold assist and more. The hill-hold control is offered with the AGS variants only.

The hatchback is available with three powertrain options. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is only available on the ZXi Plus variants, producing a maximum power output of 88hp and 113Nm of torque. The 1.0-litre petrol engine on the lower engine puts out 66hp and 89Nm. In a CNG guide, this engine produces 56hp and 82Nm.
