Mahindra BE 6 to get a triple-screen system soon

Mahindra BE 6 has enjoyed massive success in India ever since its launch in November 2024. The electric SUV is set to receive its first massive update soon. Mahindra will update the upholstery options and add a new passenger screen to the dashboard. Currently, the BE 6 is offered with a central infotainment system and a digital driver’s display. The updated version of the EV could be introduced in mid-August.

2026 Mahindra BE 6: What to expect?

The updated version of the Mahindra BE 6 won’t feature a total facelift, since the EV is less than 2 years into its lifecycle. Automakers usually facelift their offerings once they cross the 3-year midcycle mark. Updates on the 2026 BE 6 will be limited to a new upholstery option and the addition of a passenger screen. The current model comes with a dual-tone black-and-grey colour theme for the upholstery. A new black-and-tan option will be introduced alongside the current theme.

Since triple-screen setups are becoming more common in SUVs across the board, be it ICE or all-electric, Mahindra will update the BE 6 with a passenger display to make it more appealing to buyers. Currently, the EV features 12.3-inch displays for the central touchscreen infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. Another 12.3-inch screen is expected to join this setup. It will be positioned on the passenger’s side and will function as an entertainment display. The BE 6’s elder sibling, XEV 9e uses a similar triple-screen setup comprising three 12.3-inch panels.

Mahindra is also thinking about doing away with the halo loop around the BE 6’s driver’s cockpit. This will lend the EV a more conventional look and make space for another cupholder in the centre console. It will also make the Type-C port and wireless charging pad more accessible to the passenger. These changes will be limited to some variants of the EV. Buyers will still be able to opt for the cockpit-like design on certain trims.

No changes are expected on the safety front, as the EV is already stacked in that department. It comes with 6 airbags, Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), all-wheel disc brakes, front fog lamps, cornering lamps, Brake-by-Wire technology, Intelligent Electronic Brake Booster with 46 value-added features, a rear HD camera, front and rear parking sensors, auto-defogger, TPMS, and more. There’s also a Level 2 ADAS package onboard.

No battery or powertrain upgrades are expected either. The 59kWh battery pack on the Mahindra BE 6 offers a driving range of 556km. The electric motor powering these variants generates a maximum power output of 231hp and 380Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 79kWh variants offer a driving range of 682km and put out 286hp and 380Nm.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the current Mahindra BE 6 range start at Rs 18.89 lakh and go up to Rs 28.49 lakh. The updated model will demand a small premium. It will continue to rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Tata Sierra EV, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella.
