Jeep Meridian: A facelift in the works

Jeep India is set to introduce the Meridian facelift in the coming months. The SUV has been spotted testing on Indian roads on multiple occasions. Ahead of the launch of the updated SUV, the automaker is keen to push the current stock of the soon-to-be outgoing model. The price cut will help the automaker in selling more units of the Meridian.

The Jeep Meridian facelift will get significant cosmetic updates. The front and rear bumpers will be redesigned completely. The grille and LED headlamp design will also receive some minor tweaks. The presence of a radar module on the SUV’s bumper confirms that it will be equipped with an ADAS package. The ADAS sensors are expected to be sourced from Bosch. This ADAS suite will pack features like lane keep assist, forward collision braking, blind spot monitoring, collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and more.

Inside, the Jeep Meridian 2.0 will stick to the 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster from the current model. The facelift could get different upholstery options. Jeep could add features like an air purifier and front & rear dashboard cameras.

Things will remain the same under the hood as the Jeep Meridian facelift will continue to be powered by the 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine. This unit produces a maximum power output of 168hp and 350Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The  SUV can go from 0-100 km/h in 10.8 seconds and can attain a top speed of 198 km/h.
