Hyundai i10 crosses 33 lakh sales landmark

The Hyundai i10 hatchback has crossed the 33 lakh sales landmark. Out of these 33 lakh units, 13 lakh have been exported to foreign markets. This leaves the automaker with 20 lakh domestic sales. The budget hatchback was introduced in 2007. Since then, it has seen 3 major generations and numerous facelifts. Currently, the hatchback is sold in 3 avatars – i10, Grand i10, and Grand i10 Nios.

Hyundai i10: Reaching new levels of popularity

Hyundai i10’s success in India is down to its cutting-edge features at a budget price. It packs an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, leather-wrapped steering, wireless charging, keyless entry, cruise control, TPMS, four airbags as standard, and an option of 6 airbags, ESC, ISOFIX anchorages and more.

The Hyundai i10 is available in 2 powertrain options. The 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 83hp and 113.8Nm of torque. It can be linked to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. Meanwhile, the 1.2-litre bi-fuel (petrol with CNG) engine generates a maximum power output of 69hp and 95.2Nm of torque. Previously, the hatchback was offered in a turbo-petrol powertrain as well.

Hyundai is currently hosting the Smart Care Clinic across 1,600 service centres in India. This clinic started on April 25 and will last till May 6. As a part of the clinic, Hyundai is providing offers on periodic maintenance services, mechanical running repair, interior & exterior beautification and extended warranty plans. Other benefits include a free 70-point checkup and benefits on roadside assistance policy, mechanical parts, wheel alignment, and more.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Hyundai i10 start at Rs 5.92 lakh and go up to Rs 7.59 lakh. The hatchback is also exported to foreign markets in South Africa, Mexico, Peru, and Chile. It rivals the likes of the Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Swift, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis in India.
