The Volkswagen Taigun will be updated with a facelift model this year. The SUV has been spotted testing in India on numerous occasions since 2025. The first spy shots of the facelifted version surfaced in July 2025. The most recent test mule, spotted testing in Pune, was draped in minimal camouflage. It was a Left Hand Drive (LHD) model manufactured for foreign markets.

Volkswagen Taigun facelift: What to expect?
All the test mules of the Taigun facelift have had very limited camouflage. The newest sighting reveals a refreshed design for the LED headlamps. The new units are slightly curvy compared to the ones on the outgoing model. The eyebrow DRLs accentuate the look of the headlamps. The reworked bumper has horizontal slits instead of a mesh pattern. The grille was covered by camouflage, but it will be integrated with lighting elements and an illuminated Volkswagen logo.

No changes are expected along the sides of the Volkswagen Taigun facelift apart from a new design for the alloy wheels. The higher variants will get a dual-tone alloy design. The profile of the SUV will remain unchanged. At the back, the LED headlamps will be larger than the ones on the current model. They are expected to be connected by a light bar. This section has been covered under drapes in all the test mules so far.

No spy shots of the interior of the Taigun facelift have surfaced so far. The SUV may get a new design for its dashboard. Volkswagen could also introduce a new colour theme for the cabin. The facelift will likely carry a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. There will be support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The biggest feature addition will be a Level 2 ADAS package. Other features like ventilated front seating, a multi-function steering wheel, an electric sunroof, and wireless charging are expected to make the cut.

No changes will be made under the hood of the Volkswagen Taigun facelift. It will continue to be offered in 2 engine options. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission.
