The Volkswagen ID Era has been made in collaboration with the Chinese automaker, SAIC. It is powered by VW’s first range-extender powertrain. A fuel-powered generator charges the battery while driving and adds another 700km to its range. The battery pack has a 300km driving range. The spacious SUV has three seating rows and a 7-person capacity.
The ID Evo is built by Volkswagen Anhui in China. It is underpinned by an 800V platform. The Evo is the first full-size all-electric SUV in the ID family. It takes design inspiration from ID Unyx, which is a rebadged version of the Cupra Tavascan. Unlike the Unyx, the Evo has a more SUV-like roofline. The zonal electric not only expands its digital services, but also equips to receive Over The Air (OTA) updates.
The ID Aura is built in collaboration with First Automotive Works (FAW), which is one of the oldest automakers in China. It is underpinned by the Compact Main Platform (CMP) and has zonal electric architecture. It is specially designed for the Chinese market, targeting price-conscious buyers. The EV uses its AI-based high computing capacity for automated driving. The centre console of the Aura has the UI/UX of a smartphone. Its infotainment system and essential functions can be controlled via its AI assistant.
