Toyota Innova HyCross exterior images leaked ahead of launch

Toyota is set to release the new Toyota Innova HyCross later this month. The MPV will first be launched in Indonesia as Toyota Zenix, followed by an Indian launch. Bookings for the HyCross will begin on November 25. While Toyota has been slowly building up the final reveal of the MPV with subtle teasers, new leaks surfaced online today that revealed the exterior of Toyota’s latest offering.

Toyota Innova HyCross: Leaked images, expected specs, and more

New leaked images give a detailed view of what the exterior of HyCross will look like. Up front, the MPV gets a massive mesh grille with a black and chrome finish. Prominent lines run across the bumper, housing the LED headlights. The overall design of HyCross is much closer to an SUV than an MPV.

The crease runs across the side profile of the HyCross, smoothly merging with the wraparound tail lamps. The exterior structure suggests that the Toyota Innova HyCross will have a third seating row, like its cousin Crysta. The MPV gets premium-looking alloy wheels as well. The leaked images do not give a glimpse of the rear profile.

Recently, some spy shots of the Innova HyCross also emerged online and indicated the presence of horizontal tail lamps and 10-spoke alloy wheels. When it comes to features, buyers can expect the Hycross to be loaded with updated instruments and car tech. This includes a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, and more. The safety features will also be updated for the MPV.

Toyota also plans on ditching the diesel engine for Innova HyCross. The MPV will only be made available in petrol-hybrid variants, like the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. Although, unlike the HyRyder, the Toyota Innova Hycross will use a 2.0-litre petrol engine. It will also receive a localised version of the Toyota Hybrid System.

Conclusion

Toyota will unveil and commence bookings for the Innova HyCross on November 25. Prices for the MPV will be announced at AutoExpo 2023, which starts on January 11 next year. It has also been confirmed that the Hycross will be rebadged for Maruti Suzuki in India. This will make it the first Toyota vehicle to be rebadged for Maruti ever since their partnership commenced in 2017. The Toyota Innova Hycross will rival Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Kia Carens.
