Toyota India recalls over 11,500 units of the Urban Cruiser HyRyder

Toyota India has issued a recall for over 11,500 units of the Urban Cruiser HyRyder just days after its Maruti cousin, Grand Vitara, was recalled. Toyota has stated that the reason for the recall is an issue with the fuel level indicator and the warning light. This is the same problem that popped up on the Grand Vitara. Maruti’s recalled almost 40,000 units of its midsize SUV.

Toyota India will offer free inspections and replacements to affected customers

The HyRyder units manufactured between December 9, 2024 and April 29, 2025, have been recalled by Toyota India. The automaker has stated that the affected units may not display the accurate fuel level in certain conditions. When the fuel level falls below the designated threshold, the warning lamp for low fuel level may not go off.

Toyota dealerships will reach out to the owners of the affected units and carry out free inspections on the fuel level indicators. The defective parts will be replaced without any extra charge. HyRyder owners can check whether their car is affected by going to this webpage and entering their model’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Customers can also call 1800-309-0001 for more details.
