Volkswagen has launched Sound Edition models for the Taigun SUV and the Virtus sedan. Volkswagen Taigun Sound Edition is priced at Rs 16.33 lakh while its Virtus counterpart gets a pricetag of Rs 15.52 lakh. The Sound Edition models get cosmetic highlights and a new sound system. They remain mechanically unchanged.

The Sound Edition models of the Taigun and Virtus are available in four colour options – Lava Blue, Carbon Steel Grey, Wild Cherry Red, and Rising Blue. Buyers can choose dual-tone shades with a white roof and white OVRM caps. The two cars also get special ‘Sound’ graphics and branding on the C-pillar.
The biggest changes come inside the cars as the two Sound Editions get a specially tuned audio system. This audio system features a new subwoofer and amplifier. The ‘Sound’ branding can also be found on the front A-pillar tweeters. Other features include electric front seats, puddle lamps, and footwell illumination.
Things remain the same under the hood as the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus Sound Editions are powered by the same 1.0-litre TSI engine as the rest of the lineup. This engine can produce a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.

Earlier this month, Volkswagen also introduced the Trail Edition for the Taigun SUV. It is only available for the GT trim at the price of Rs 16.30 lakh. Volkswagen Taigun SUV rivals the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, and Skoda Kushaq in India. Meanwhile, the Virtus rivals Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
