Skoda Kushaq gets a new Matte Edition, priced at Rs 16.19 lakh

Skoda India has launched a new limited edition trim for its midsize SUV, Skoda Kushaq. The Matte Edition of the Kushaq will be placed between the Style and Monte Carlo trims. Skoda will only produce 500 units of the Kushaq Matte Edition. It will be made available in 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engine options along with a choice of automatic or manual gearbox. Skoda Kushaq Matte Edition has been priced at Rs 16.19 lakh.

Skoda Kushaq Matte Edition: What’s different?

There are a few cosmetic changes on the Matte Edition of Skoda Kushaq. As the name suggests, the SUV gets a matte finish on the Carbon Steel paint. The door handles, OVRMs, and rear spoiler get a contrasting gloss finish. No changes have been made to the chrome finish on the grille. The trunk garnish and window lining remain unchanged too.

Matte Edition

Inside, the Matte Edition for Skoda Kushaq gets the larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system found on the Monte Carlo variant. This infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The SUV also gets a 6-speaker sound system. Other features include an electric sunroof, cruise control, wireless charging, an 8-inch driver’s display, six airbags, TPMS, and a rear parking camera.

Monte Carlo

Things remain the same under the hood as the Skoda Kushaq Matte Edition gets 2 powertrain options. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power of 115hp and 175Nm peak torque. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, Skoda will only produce 500 units of the Kushaq Matte Edition. Kushaq’s VW cousin, Taigun, may also get a Matte Edition soon. In India, Skoda Kushaq rivals Grand Vitara, Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and Volkswagen Taigun.
