Tata Motors: Second price hike this year

This is the second time this year that Tata Motors has hiked the prices of its cars. In March, the automaker announced a 5% price hike across all its commercial vehicles due to the transition to BS6 Phase II complying engines. This time around, Tata Motors has cited the reason to be “the residual impact of the past input costs.” The automaker will offer price protection to bookings made up to July 16, 2023, and deliveries up to July 31, 2023.

Last month, Tata Motors reached the 50,000 sales landmark for its flagship EV, Tata Nexon. Back in April, Tata had hit the 5 lakh production landmark for the Nexon EV and ICE versions combined. Prices for the Nexon EV begin at Rs 14.49 lakh and go up to Rs 19.54 lakh. Tata slashed the prices for Nexon by Rs 85,000 earlier this year. The EV will receive a nominal price increase as a part of the upcoming hike.

Talking about upcoming releases, Tata Motors will be launching the facelifted versions of Safari and Harrier later this year. Expected to come out in October, the Safari facelift was spotted testing on Indian roads recently. The SUV gets a new 2-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel which you may remember from the Tata Curvv concept. The upcoming Nexon facelift is expected to carry the same steering design as well. The covering at the centre of the steering suggests that it will get an illuminated logo.
