Renault Duster to make its debut next month

The all-new Renault Duster is set to make its global debut next month. Romanian automaker Dacia will take the wraps off the SUV in Portugal on November 29. In South American and Indian markets, the SUV will be sold as the Renault Duster. However, it may take until 2025 for the SUV to be re-launched in India.

Renault Duster: What to expect?

The upcoming Renault Duster will be based on a new CMF-B modular platform that has been co-developed by Nissan and Renault. While the SUV will retain its signature look from the outgoing model, it will feature a boxier design and will be sleeker up front. There may even be some differences between the Renault-badged SUV and the Dacia model.

The new Renault Duster will get a versatile powertrain. It is expected to be made available in three engine options – 1.0L petrol, 1.2L petrol hybrid, and 1.3L turbo petrol. The 1.0-litre petrol engine will feature in the entry-level variants of the SUV. It will produce a maximum power output of 120hp. Meanwhile, the other two engines will produce 140hp and 170hp respectively. The 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine will also be made available in a flex-fuel hybrid avatar.

No details about the interior or the instrument list have been revealed so far. Renault Duster may also get a 3-row version called the ‘Bigster’. It remains to be seen when the 3-row SUV will be launched. The Renault Duster is expected to match the feature list of the popular midsize SUVs in the Indian market.
