As the year draws to an end, Maruti Suzuki has a couple of exciting releases lined up. The next-gen Dzire sedan is scheduled for a launch on November 11. Before that, the automaker will showcase the production-spec version of its debut EV. The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be revealed in its production avatar on November 4 in Milan, Italy. Maruti Suzuki eVX: What will the production model of the SUV look like?
After making its global debut in Milan, the Maruti Suzuki eVX will be showcased in India at the Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025. The electric SUV will be manufactured in Maruti Suzuki’s production facility in Gujarat. Maruti plans on producing 1.40 lakh units of the eVX in its first year. 50% of these units will be shipped to foreign markets.
The design of the production-spec model of the Maruti Suzuki eVX is very similar to the concept model that was showcased at Auto Expo in 2023. Up front, the SUV will sport a flat nose and edgy LED headlamps. Being an EV, its grille will be completely shut off. The sloping roofline of the SUV gives it a coupe-like look in profile. The door handles are placed on the C-pillar instead of their traditional position.
Inside, the Maruti Suzuki eVX will get a dual-screen setup for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The two-spoke steering will be integrated with physical buttons for media and climate control. The rotary dial will be housed in the floating centre console. The SUV is expected to get a 360-degree camera and an ADAS package.
The eVX will be underpinned by a new platform designed especially for Maruti Suzuki EVs. Future Maruti EVs will use this platform as well. So far, Maruti Suzuki has kept a tight lid on the battery and powertrain specs of the EV. It is expected to come in 48kWh and 60kWh battery pack variants. The larger battery pack will offer a 550km driving range. The SUV may also sport an AWD.
