Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Swift gets a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 90hp and 113Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki is also gearing up to launch the next-gen Swift in India next month. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift gets cosmetic updates in the form of angular headlamps, a wider grille, and a new bumper. The model that was unveiled in Japan last year boasted a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, and an electric sunroof. However, these features are not expected to make it to the India-spec Swift. The Indian version of the hatchback will get safety features like ABS with EBD, ESP, and seat belt reminders for rear passengers as standard.
The next-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift will be powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine. This engine will be slightly tweaked to produce a better output on the India-spec model of the hatchback. Expect it to put up similar numbers as the K series engine powering the current-gen Swift. More details will be made available upon launch.
