Prices for Mahindra Scorpio N hiked again, now dearer by Rs 21,000

Mahindra Scorpio N has received yet another price hike this year. The entry-level Z2 petrol variant gets a price hike of Rs 21,000. As a result, the Mahindra Scorpio N lineup now starts at Rs 13.26 lakh. Other variants of the SUV have also received price increments ranging between Rs 2,000 to Rs 81,000. This is the third time this year that Mahindra has hiked prices for the SUV.

Mahindra Scorpio N: Price hike breakdown

Mahindra Scorpio N is available in petrol and diesel powertrains with five variants on offer – Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L. Prices for the SUV now start at Rs 13.26 lakh for the petrol manual Z2 variant. The diesel manual powertrain combination for the entry-level variant is priced at Rs 13.76 lakh. The top-spec Z8L 4WD diesel variant gets a minimal price hike of Rs 2,000 (now priced at Rs 24.53 lakh) while the Z4E diesel variant gets the highest bump of Rs 81,000 (now priced at Rs 18.50 lakh).

The two powertrain options available on the Mahindra Scorpio N are a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2L diesel engine unit that also powers the Mahindra Thar and XUV700. The petrol unit delivers 170PS of power while the diesel unit puts 155PS of power. The SUV comes with multiple driving modes and has a body-on-frame construction. It features intelligent 4Xplore terrain management technology, offering four modes – Tarmac, Snow, Mud and Desert, with the touch of a button.

Talking about features, the Mahindra Scorpio N gets an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a 12-speaker Sony system with 3D surround sound, an uplifted digital instrument console, roof-mounted speakers, as well as a wide electric sunroof. One of the significant highlights of the car is its Alexa-enabled remote start feature.

The Mahindra Scorpio N range now starts at Rs 13.26 lakh and goes up to Rs 24.53 lakh. The top-spec petrol variant costs Rs 21.78 lakh. The SUV rivals the likes of Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, Tata Safari, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Hyundai Creta, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
